OUR GOOD FRIENDS TROUBADOUR PLAY THE LOWERY THEATRE NOVEMBER 17TH

Michael Shanagher and Andrew Bache of Blackpool acoustic band Troubadour, have had another very busy summer yo-yo-ing up and down the country to play at festivals alongside such acts as The Charlatans, The Levellers, Bellowhead and Three Daft Monkeys. But in November, Troubadour will be bringing their music back indoors, with their own headline showcase at the prestigious Lowry Theatre on Salford Quays. Mick said, 'We've played some great festivals again this year. At Galtres Festival near York just a few weeks ago, we were up to our knees in mud, so it'll be a great contrast to play in a venue as civillized as the Lowry!'

The duo will be appearing at the Lowry Theatre on Thursday the 17th of November 2011, along with a selection of performers that they have befriended on their travels. Andy and Mick, will be joined by Irish piper Brian Stafford, a trio of backing vocalists, and Billy Hickling, from the West End hit show STOMP, who will be putting down his sweeping brush and his dustbin lids to join Troubadour on percussion.

Troubadour recorded their debut studio album, Carnival Town, at Blueprint Studios in Manchester, and its release has led to several appearances on BBC Radio, and to one of the tracks from the album being used in the BBC television drama, 'Waterloo Road'.

Andy said 'We'll be playing some songs from our current album, Carnival Town, but as they've never been heard before! The Irish pipes and the backing vocals sound awesome and Billy's subtle percussion really emphasises the rhythm in our songs. We've been writing plenty of new songs on our travels this Summer too, and they'll be getting their first airing at the Lowry, so it'll be a really special night'.

Tickets are £10 each and are on sale now from the Lowry Box Office on 0843 208 6010 and from the Lowry website.
