In “FLIP” Smug Roberts performs a genre defying tour de force demonstrating his incredible versatility as a performer.

 

A death in the family may seem a strange subject for a comedy play, but when your job is to be a stand-up comedian the laughs just have to keep coming, even when your heart is breaking.

 

Actor and Comedian Smug Roberts has made us laugh on TV hits from ‘That Peter Kay Thing’ and ‘Phoenix Nights’ to his current starring role on BBC TVs ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’. He has delivered serious performances in television dramas like ‘Buried’, ‘Cutting It’ and ‘Clocking Off’. His film credits include ’24 Hour Party People’ and he starred alongside Eric Cantona in ‘Looking For Eric’ directed by Ken Loach.

 

Smug Roberts performs “Flip” as though his very life depends on it. Based on his own traumatic loss, his performance will have you crying both tears of joy and sadness as he reveals both sides of the theatrical mask with split second timing.

Flip will be playing at The Dancehouse Theatre from Wednesday November 30th  to Saturday December 3rd  followed by Nottingham, London, Sheffield, Glasgow, Dublin, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Birmingham.
